we the undersigners would respectfully ask of you to procure for us if not Contrary to orders a transfer to U.S. Genl. Hospital at Chicango it being nearer to our homes of eny hospital in the state and I, Joseph Rex would like to be transfered on the account of getting an artificial arm and [P?] Levi H Whitson was severly wounded Right leg both wounded on the fifteenth of may last hoping to hear from you by return mail yours &c
