Your Excellency Governor Yates of Illinois,

Dear Sir

We See that there is an order issued for all the Convalessent Soldiers in Hospital to go home on Furlough. The Indiana Soldiers that was here have all - been sent home. They said they were going home to vote, There is no talk of Sending the Illinois Soldiers home. There is from Three to Five Hundred Illinois Soldiers in this Hospital who are Able to go home and Some of them have not been home for over two years. The Illinois Soldiers would like to vote and we think they will all vote the right ticket if they get the Chance. Knowing you to be the Soldiers Friend We took the Liberty of writing to you, Hoping that you will see that the Soldier of Illinois will get Home the Same as the Soldiers of other States, By sending an order to Magor John F. Randolf Surgeon in Charge of


Jefferson Barracks you may get what Illinois Soldiers there is here home, and by doing So you will Oblige the Convalessent Illinois Soldiers of
