Dear Sir
I thougth I would write to you all though a stranger you might help me in time of need My husband is in the army and has bin for over 2 years he went out in the 8th Ills infantry and has bin sick ever since he left home he is in the Invalid Corps at Chicago at this time he came home on a furlow one year ago he started back on the 19 day of October and got as far as Peoria and was taken as a deserter and sent to St Louis and from thare to Indiana Indianapalis and he never got back to his company untill the first of March he is still under an arest he has not drawed any pay for a year and I am in destitute circumstances my Brothers are all in the army and my health is poor and my father is old and if you can do any thing for my husband I will be obliged to you a thousand times his name is Cyrus R. Quigley he is in the 8th Regiment. Co. H. V.R.C. he is at Camp Douglass Chicago if you want further information write to May M. Quigley Duncans Mills fulton Co Ills

State of Ills. Exectn's Dpt. Springfield Oct 24/64 Respectfully referred to Comdg Officer at Camp Douglas Chicago with request that within case be investigated & the result reported to this office By order of Gov. Yates
