I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 13th inst. in relation to the Extension of the Furlough of E. I. Short, Co. "B" 10th Ills. Cav. In reply I beg leave to call your attention to my letter of the 12th inst which will apply to this mans case also. All that will be necessary in this case is that when he is able to report to his command he will bring with him Surgeon's Certificates covering all the time that he was absent after the Expiration of his Furlough.
