His Ex. R. Yates
Dr Sir:
I am informed by the Telegraphic news that many drafted men have been assigned to the 43d --there are 200 men in Camp Butler, as I am advised, who wish to go into the 130th.
Isn't it possible for me to get them? I suppose not I never think of Washington City and "the Honest Old" &c without a violent vertigo.-- Things are working right here-I have not
yet sounded M. I hope he is or will become right I think from a conversation with the brother of Gen. J. M. P. some months ago that he will run- He (the bro.) is a preacher and from his diplomatic ignorance and vagueness & circumlocution I come to that conclusion. I think Johny A. is an aspiring Buckingham-but of this I know nothing.
We people are for you most decidedly-
Dr Copp thinks as I do that a visit to Monroe (his county) & Randolph before the election would be well.

If you could do anything towards filling up my regt. I should like it much. I do want to get back and be in at the death. Besides, Governor, there is no law business for me- It is monopolized by Peace Patriots or talking soldiers Parlor Knights -and I need occupation.- am poor. I am so because my life during most of majority has been devoted to making Lincoln Prest. Trumbull Senator Koerner Minister to Spain &c.
