Sir:
The parents of John Schlemmer now serving in Vaughan's Springfield Battery, stationed at Little Rock, request me to assist them in procuring a furlough for their son. The young man has been over two years in the army and has served faithfully but has never had a furlough.
If you can consistently grant his application please do so & oblige
