Dear Sir
I feel it my painful duty to Anounce to you sickness of my son Peter Kinsela he is now in the Hospital at New Orleans he had Volunteered from Bloomington Illinois he belongs to the 94 Reg Illinois Volunteers Second division 13 Army Corps he wrote me a letter Dated Oct 7th which letter I Enclose to you he requested me to write to you In his behalf Dear Sir I do beseech you to Grant him a furlough to come Home where he is under our care and the Change of Climate he may be fit for Duty again he passed the board of Surgeons for a furlough but for Some cause didnot get to come he was in 25 heavy engagement together with A great many skirmishes and got no wound
Dear Sir I wish you to Know I had another son in the army He was shot in the battle of Stone River he was then an officer only seventeen years old under Colonel Muller If my Son that is in hospital Fell on the battle field I would never Have cause to regret but to die in Hospital it troubles me very much
Dear Sir I hope you will notice My humble request and grant me that one favour
