Dear Sir

My attention was called to the case of one John W. Lingle "A" Co of my command, by a communication from myself of date 18th inst. and I at once had a medical examination made of the man. The Surgeons report of the case release please find enclosed.

I am satisfied that he has been habituating himself to that method of contracting his fingers and the whole complaint has been of his voluntary acquiring. With hopes of thus procuring his discharge,
