Dear Sir

i take my pen in hand to informe you of my situation of life. i am on the Mercy of the people sick and Cripled no one to help me in eney Way and my onely son in the Armey and i suffer for his Care my onely suport and dependenbe My Son was broat home two years ago last June by Cap St. Bronson And Dr Wentworth from springfield Camp Butler With the Camp fevor and Congestion on the Brain and from that time to the presant day i have ben sick And My husband and three Children have dide of the same disease and i am left alone With tow girlss and this son Elisha Wm Finch my onely dependenbe i need his help


My son is in the 12 illanois Cavelry Company C he is at Baton Rouge When i heard from him last i gave my onely son freely to help poot down this Rebellon and now i think he is due to his Mother in my last stage of life now please give him a disCharge that he Mite have the privlage of seeing one of us laid in the grave. Will you grant this request Dear sir govner yates think of your Mother if you have one one When you read this letter of mine have pitty on me and disCharge my son from the servis if it is uposiable liborate him for my Sake i am a poor Woman nothing but the Mercy of the friends that keep me till my Child Coms back Oh hasen
