Dear Sir:

I would call your attention

to a rumor from the South, which is looked upon here

as a fact -- that Mobile has been evacuated. If such is

the case, a U.S. Marshal, & Treas Agents, will be appoi

nted at once, either would suit me.

I cannot [hear?] that our Legislature

has done any thing for the Ills Soldiers in Hospital,

and I look upon my agency here as supreflurous,

from the fact, that I have neither money, or supplies,

and I would like to be actively engaged

If you have time to write a few

lines, I shall be glad to hear from you.
