Dear Sir
My friend B. B. Wentworth Esqr, for some years a member of the bar of this City, is desirous of entering the service of the Country in a military capacity. I am not capable of speaking of his military qualifications, but think he has a taste that way, and take great pleasure in saying that he is a gentleman of fine intelligence - of energy and industry; of integrity, and great devotion to the cause of the Union and Constitution, and will do no dishonor to any position he may ask for.
I will be glad to see him placed in a position to be useful to the country in this time of strife and trouble.
