Hon. Richard Yates USSenator

Dear Sir

I took the liberty some months ago to enclose to you at Washington City, a petition signed by the members of the General Assembly of Ohio, asking for my appointment as a Minister Plenipotentiary to one of the European courts.

Our friend Genl Schenck is under the impression from a remark of the President, since the adjournment, that he had not received it.

Will you be kind enough to write, informing me; how the case stands? In my present status, I should dislike much to lose this paper.

Very truly your friend

Charles Anderson

I send a similar note to Springfield Ill
