Dear Dr

Excuse me for not answering

yours as to expenses during your trip south

I expected to have seen you before now

but have passed so rapidly through Springfield

as not to allow me much time I fear that

I cannot allow the $250, upon the plan suggested

by Johnny Snyder I cannot conscientiously

do it unless satisfied that service to that

amount was rendered our soldiers but I

say this to you I will although hard run

pay you one third this amt when I come to Springfield

or payit to you & snyder jointly or any way
