His Excellency
Richd. Yates,
Dr. Million whom you appointed Surgeon for the purpose of inspecting the men of my brigade will hand you this. He has been prompt and satisfactory in the discharge of the duties of his post and stands high with the brigade. His service under your appointment is not yet finished, yet as he has been proposed by one of my regiments for its permanent Surgeon, he visits Springfield, with my permission, for the purpose of being examined by the Surgical board.
