Portrait of John Colvin Brown, father to Florence Brown, who later married William P. Marshall. Florence and William's son, Charles E. Marshall, married Jennie Ewing in 1887, daughter of Alexander K. Ewing (1840-1874) and Louisa Frances Harris (1844-1899). Alexander descended from John W. Ewing (1814-1867) and Jane K. Ewing (1818-1887).
