In submitting the inclosed to your consideration, I have the honor to request you to cause an inquiry to be made respecting the facts stated by Mr Springer, who is a well known citizen of this place, and a correspondent of the public press. The condition of Calvert, if as represented certainly requires immediate attention, and the interposition of your authority which I respectfully solicit.
