Dear Governor.

I send you as I promised, by to-days mail, an Editorial in the evening of the "Dispatch"; headed "Gov. Yates & the Senatorial question in Illinois." As you see there are a number of errors in it; but they will not I think materially injure it. Tell Col Hirschbach I am glad to see that he is appointed one of the consuls from this country to Germany. I hope he will enjoy "otium cum dignitate," in that position.

In haste,

Your friend & servt.-

T. A. Post.

His Excellency

Gov. Yates

Springfield
