Governor
Having heard that Your Excellency has in contemplation the establishment of two military posts for the troops now being organized in this State at which the Regiments & parts of Regiments now at Camp Butler are to be quartered. Respectfully request that our command may be assigned to the post to be established at Shawneetown if the same in the opinion of Your Excellency be consistent with the public interests & formed into the first brigade of Your divisions
