Sir. Your recommendations for vacancies in the 49th have all been approved by the Governor and commissions forwarded, except that of Andrew Marlow, Asst. Surgeon, vice Bealtie, resigned.

Before commission can issue in this case it is required that he have certificate from the Board of Medical Examiners and file it in this Department.

As the Board have lately returned home from their duties in the field, I concluded it was proper to address you at your residence, and if you request, a permit will issue for him to be examined.
