General

I enclose for the consideration of his Excellency Richd, Yates, Governor of the State of Ills, my application with recommendations, for my appointment as Col of the Regt that is now raising under the Gov call in the 9th Congressional District of our noble state, I hope you will urge it upon the Gov for his favorable consideration, I have been twelve months nearly in the service of my country and I am willing for the Records of our noble army of the west to speak for itself in reference to my actions. please write me if not asking to much on receipt of this all about the matter and how the state is responding to the last call. I hope she will come nobly up to the work. Hoping to hear from you soon.
