Nov the 19th A.D. 1862,
Dear Sir I thought I would take the opportunity to write you a few lines to let you know my situation I have been away from my regiment over seven months I have been very near blind and have had my leg broke and I wish you would please to transfer me to my own state or have me discharged for I am tired of staying here I belong to the 28th Reg, Co. H, Ill vol answer this and let me know if you can do anything for me or not I am at Evansville Indiana Hospital No. 1.
