Urbana Illinois
January 12 1863
His Excellency Richard Yates Governor of Illinois
Sir, I herewith send you a letter that I received from Martin M Young of Company E 125th Regiment Illinois Volunteers for Examination.
Mr Young is lingering out a miserable existence at Camp Denison Ohio.
He has been afflicted with consumption and Dyspepcia for ten years. He has a wife and child in this neighborhood, and if you would procure his discharge or a sick furlough you would confer a favor on him, and place your humble servant under many obligations
Respectfully
Waitman F. Somers
