During the Fall Several of my Republican Friends urged me to ask his Excelency R. Yates for an Appointment as a Director of the Deaf & Dumb Asseylum at Jacksonville (which office as I understand was made vacant by the Resignation of Wm Yer F. Brown) Have Concluded to do So if I could ask Gov Hoffmann to speak to Gov Yates for me (hoping that I do not ask to much). Supposing also that their are not many applicants as no Sallary is Connected with the office
