Alow me to address you with a few lines hoping thay will meet my object Gov Sir. I have been a solder through this war up to this time I was one of the first that inlested in Aurora. for three years) well Sir I have been through three severe Battels and at Last one I got severly wounded and I never Expected to of got over it I got Severly wounded at the Battle of Pittsburgh Landing, aprial 6, and 7 1862, and now By my good care at home I am getting along verry well and I wish to go to the army again or do some good somewere to help crush this
Rebelion. I have got Passes from all of my offercers of my Regment and co. for Bravery on the Battle fieald and thay say I forward as a Privit and never asked for a office of any Kind, but I might of had if I would of excepted of a office, I for one I did not Enlist for the sake of getting a office as a grate meny do. no i went as a Solder and I don my duty as my officers say untill I was Shott down on the field of battle, now gov if you think I am deserving a Position of any Kind in the army, and if you have the Powar to give me any commision I hope you will Endeve to Remember me (and if you
can apoint me to som post I hope you will Endever to do so, if you have any feeling for a wounded solder that as don his duty as a man I hope you will Remember me if you can do any thing for me I wish you would lett me know and I will send you a Reckemend, By George Bangs or E K allen or any of the head citizens of Aurora and my officers, and a statement of my condishion, I will send this to you if you think you can do any thing for me you must Remember that I am a fighting man of my contry now gov do not forget this, Pleas lett me know if you can do any thing for me yours truly
