Surgeon in Charge

U.S. General Hospital

Ft. Schuyler N.Y.

Sir:

Conrad Walker of Co. E. 82nd Regt Ills Vols now confined in hospital at Ft Schuyler, has been unfit for duty, as I am informed since he enlisted, which was about 9 months ago.

I would respectfully request you to have him examined without delay and discharged if his condition will warrant. Should he not be a fit subject for discharge, you would oblige me by granting him a furlough, to enable him to recover his health at home.
