Allow me to recommend to your favorable consideration, as in applicant for the position of United States Atty for the Southern District of Ills Isaac L. Morrison Esq. of Jacksonville As a lawyer and a man Mr M. has the fairest standing He is a staunch republican without reproach, has labored earnestly and zealously in the cause at all times and has largely contributed to the success that so triumphantly crowned our efforts in the recent struggle. His appointment would be exceedingly gratifying to the party in the district I had the honor to represent in the Electoral College
