To His Excellency Gov Yates

Dear Sir,

Will you please to inform us whether our term of service expires on or after the 16th of April. Whether our three months service will shorten our three year service? We saw in the Chicago papers while in front of Vicksburg that yourself and Gov Morton of Indiana had arranged it with the authorities at Washington making the three months a part of the three years service. And it is principally for some reliable information that we appeal to you.
