Sir.

Captain Frank Hitchcock of the 86th Reg Co D. Ill. Vol. sent to my address through the State allotment Agent $250 the 14th of Nov. which was to have been forwarded to Peoria, by express from Springfield. Ill. but through some delinquency has failed to reach me - and not knowing any one to address, but your Excellency to assist me. I have presumed to ask the favor of you for which I shall be grateful.
