Respected Sir

At the request of Mrs. Candace Young I write to ask your recommendation & influence if consistent with your views to a situation as Nurses in some Hospital in connection with the Army for herself and Husband. Her husband Mr. Samuel Young is now orderly sergeant in compy. D. 85th Reg. Ills Vols now stationed at Nashville Tenn. from an acquaintance with the parties for 10 or 15 years and my knowledge of their competency as nurses I can safely recommend them to you as fully qualified for any situation in connection with Hospitals as nurses. Young would make an excellent Steward. he is religious sober and industrious. if this meets your approval, you will please forward to me any recommendation you are willing to make.

Very Respectfully your obedient Servant H. O'Neal
