To Your Excellency:
Dear Governor:
I am informed that there will be a Provost Martial to each Congressional District in the State of Illinois, who will draw the same pay of a Capt. of Cavalry.
I should be pleased to get that position in the congressional District that Jacksonville is in.
Will you give your influance with the President for that place and you will greatly oblige your Old Friend
