Dear Sir

As I am willing to put my shoulder to the wheel I thought that I would inquire of you if there is not some part of Uncle Sams work that you could set me at that would not require me to be in the regular service. For I have four brothers and a father in the service now and my desire is not to lieve my mother and sisters alone as I am the only boy left in the family. we are all aliens now and I do not wish to loose my citizenship in Canada on the account of doing buisness with the Patent Office.

Your obedient Friend

H Stillwell
