Springfield, May 5th. /61.
Gov. Yates.
Having understood what you want some one to take charge of your house, I offer my services for that purpose. I understand housekeeping perfectly in all of its branches. I have lived five years in Springfield, and can give the best of references. If you will drop me a line through the Post-Office, letting me what time you can see me, I will call upon you. I would be willing to take charge of the house immediately, and after Mrs. Yates comes if she desires it. Respectfully,
Mrs. Martha Todd.
