Commandant, Camp Butler,
Sir: I am directed by His Excellency Governor Yates to inform you that arrangements have been made for a public Reception and Pic Nic Dinner to be given the three years troops recently returned from the field on expiration of term of service and Veteran furlough and now at Camp near this city.
Letters of invitation to Commanding officers of the 13th, 14th, 15th and 18th Regiments Ills Vols. are herewith transmitted which you

are requested to deliver as eary after receipt as practicable.
I am also directed by His Excellency to request that you cause invitation to be communicated to any other three years troops at Camp Butler. to participate on the occasion. and that the troops be formed under command of the senior regimental commander at Camp Butler and moved to Springfield in time to reach the City at ten o'clock and thirty minutes am tomorrow, June 7th with direction to the Commanding officers to report the command (with right resting on North East Corner of the Public Square) in readiness for such directions as may be communicated by the Reception Committee. The reception Ceremonials and dinner will take place at 12 o'clock M. and the troops can return to camp in the evening. Please direct regiments to bring all the music and flags they may have.
