I Recd your note of the 13th inst. in reference to the petition of myself & others in Relation to Lieut. Col. Chandler of the 35 Reg. I Recd. the same on the morning of the 14th and Intended to meet you at the Depot at our place but was Disapointed as I had an Engagement at 2 ocloke & did not get through until after the Train had passed. I am Truly Glad to Learn that you have taken the matter in hand in Col. Chandlers case & was going to see to it at Washington I hope you may be able to do Something
for him as he is Really Worthy & anything you may Do will be duly appreciated by verry many Friends. I have not been as sorry of any thing In a Long Time as I was when I found the Train had passed before I got through with a Business matter that I could not put of. I hope to see you the 25th of May at home
