Sir:

Dwight Preston of Co "F" 39th Ills Vols. who was formerly confined in your hospital and is now at home on sick furlough, wrote to me (through his attending Physician) in Aug. last to have him transfered to a hospital in Illinois I advised him to forward to you Affidavits and certificate of his Physician, showing his inability to travel &c and a transfer would be granted. He has recently informed me that a compliance with the above directions failed

to elicit your attentions

Will you please look at the papers and if consistent with regulations have him transfered to Hospital at Chicago or some other point in this State, where he will be nearer friends & home and inform me of action taken, and oblige.
