Hon O. Lovejoy
Dear Sir
I have just learned that there is to be a vacancy in the Board of Medical Examiners of this State By the resignation of one of their number. And I take the liberty of soliciting your aid and influence in procuring the appointment for myself to fill the vacancy. The Governor appoints the board, and if you will write him in my behalf or take such course as in your judgment will be most likely to succeed I will be under lasting obligations to you. Hon. J. F. Farnsworth will do all he can for me
Yours in haste
Abner Hard [bottom of page cut off]
