Gentleman:
I am in receipt of your petition asking for pardon of Michael Roberts convicted at September term 1862 Tazewell County.
In all cases of this character it is required that the recommendation of the Circuit Judge & Prosecuting Attorney shall be received before favorable action upon the application can be taken. It is also desirable to have evidence from Warden of the person of good conduct. Will take pleasure in considering your petition further upon receipt of the foregoing.
