His Excellency Richard Yates Gov State of Illinois. We the undersigned parrents of Geo. W. Horton Capt of Co "F" 129th Ills vols inft pray your Excellency that you request the A. A. Gen Dept of Cumberland to grant the Capt our Son a leave of absence of (30) days to visit his aged parrents who are old and feable. We have buisiness of great importance for him to attend to for our comfort for the coming winter.

We have had two sons wounded in battle this summer in Gorgia and non of them has had a leave of absence to come home and we pray that this our request be granted
