Dear Sir I take the Liberty to write to you concerning this you can read for yourself. I have had sent me one hundred certificates & an engraving of General Grant & I have asked several to subscribe but they are little afraid of being humbuged & now I want you or would be glad to have you, Telegraph to New York & see if it is all right & if so just write to me & if I have Gov Yates word for it it will have great influence with the people here. just send your Subscription for one of the engravings & I will have it the first on the paper & that will be enough so that I can sell them. & let me know as soon as possible. so I may know what to do. & oblige

She has 200 certificates for portrait of Genl Grant which she is authorized to sell to obtain money for an Institution for Soldiers orphans in New York.
The people wont buy them as they afraid of being humbuged. Will you telegraph to NY and find out about it & then subscribe for one to enhance the sale of them
