Hon Richard Yates
Dr Sir: The printers strike has kept us so busily employed, that we have had no time to answer the communication of our friends. We are now getting along somewhat smoothly, and shall endeavor to look to the interests of yourself and others in your State_ We are rejoiced to hear that your prospects for the Senate are so flattering, and we trust you may triumph over your opponents - we shall do all in our power to make success certain _
We received a letter from Col. Loomis of a business nature which we presume you
understand _ We wish you would urge the consummation of the matter upon him. It would aid us materially now, and enable us to extend our usefulness to our friends. Will you please give it your early attention _
(Wade?) is at Jefferson City _
