Dear Sir
I write to you in behalf of Andrew Golden a member of the 89th Reg Ill Vol, He is at present in this place on a short furlough & is under treatment for the chronic diarehea: for the year past he has been at Hospital No. one, at Nashville Tenn. He is unable to return to his Regiment and the Physicians say he will never be of any service to the army. Mr Golden understands thus in the case of one George
Baggs at the solicitation of Amos T. Hull, Treasurer of the C.B. & Q R R you procured his transfer from the Hospital at Nashville to the Marine Hospital at Chicago. Mr Golden respectfully requests that he may also be transferred to the same Hospital, in order that he may be nearer his family who can render his situation better and perhaps make a good soldier of him again. If your excellency will be kind enough to make the transfer it will be considered a great favor by your loyal constituents who are acquainted with Andrew Golden.
I am with respect
