Dear Sir -
you will please Excuse a Stranger for taking the liberty of writing to you, and I believe that you will not pass my Request by unnoticed, Espicially when I tell you that I am anxious to do something for our Country, and cannot go to the field of Battle on account of my being a Natural cripple. My desire is this, if you are not allready Supplied with Horses & mules, that you will grant me the privelige of buying Some for you, I will undertake (by your permission) to buy any number from ten to one hundred, now Sir if you will grant my request of even the lowest mentioned number you will confer a great favor
