Your favour of the 28 ultimo is at hand and contents noted in regard to Your being a candidate for the Senate it is unnecessary to assure that I would be pleased with your being being a candidate, provided You can be elected, while I would regret very much to See You defeated, how will the legislature stand will the vacancies be filled by Election before they are convened. our member Cook You are aware is now with the army at or near Corinth, Miss I will see David Keys in a few days. I think he will be all right. You may rely on any assistance that I can possibly render You
