DEAR SIR:
I send to the Post Office this day, under my frank, addressed to you, a copy of the Report of the Superintendent of the Coast Survey for the year 1862.
As there are frequent complaints of failure to receive Documents entrusted to the mail, I take this means to advise you of the book being forwarded; so that you may, by inquiring at the Post Office, ensure its reception.
