My Dear Friend
After My Compliments I would inquire what course the Administration is going to pursue in relation to appointments will the present incumbents retain their positions or will they be retained or new ones be made. I should like the appointment as Post Master of this place, it is not a remuneration office but would be a great advantage to [draw?] Custom to another business. If you can get it for me I would be under many obligations I am almost disabled from the injury I received while in the service and the office would be of considerable value to me for the reasons assigned above. The present incumbent is a good man. I have nothing to say against him he has had it for four years and has of course been at Home and not serving his Country in the field I dont know but I am asking too much of you. If not let me hear from you
Your [illegible]
B. F. Ford
I should be under many obligations for a Package of Flower & Garden seeds from the Post Office.
