Dear Friend. --
The Hon Madison E. Hollister is an applicant for the appointment of Consul to Bibou in Spain. The place is now filled by one Daniel Evans formerly from this county. and who I am informed & believe obtained the place by misrepresentation & fraud. Judge Holister is the better man & is well recommended and I want you to write a strong recomend in his favor to the President & send it to me as soon as convenient
