Dear Sir:

Lieut. Geo. L. Wright, formerly of the Chicago Light Guard, is desirous of the appointment of Major in Col. Winslow's Regiment, now being mustered into service at Princeton in this State.

The undersigned, believing him to be possessed of the necessary military qualifications to fill the office of Major, would respectfully request his appointment at the hands of your Excellency:
