to Governor Yates
Dear and honored Sir please excuse me for taking the Liberty to present you With three Bottles of my [LeleBrute?] [illegible] in [vost?] Bitters Dear Governor my reasons for sending your these are these as i had the Great pleasure of Standing By you up on the stage in our city on the fourth of July and hearing a speach from you that seemed to come from that source that Will never bee forgot By me no not as long as as any one of these is living and i Saw that your health Was poor But not With Disease i think But By hard Labour in trying to Strengthen and present this glorious union of our people Will never forget Governor Yates of illinois now Dear Sir i hope By the Blessings of Goad and the Good medicinal property these Bitters posess they may make you as Strong and as sound as you have tryed and Will Ever try to make our Blessed union yours and the Will of GodBe with you for ever i am your most obedient Servent
