Dear Govr.

I recd the enclosed letters and have read them I also got a letter from Judge Kellogg. I am like you I think there has been something made down the river. but I am disappointed in Babcock being so much at home. I fear that he and Taylor have neither of them given as much attention to the matter as they should have done. I do wish you could go down with us I shall go if possible will leave here friday night I want you to send me letter to the Authorities at Cairo to insure my getting down the river. the Doctors say I must not remain down the river.

Your friend

Martin H Cassell.
