Yours of the 28th Decr. came to hand with photographs. I enclose you mine Would have done so at once but owing to the cold weather could not secure them.
I am fixing the 7th Dist. all right on your case, the feeling is all right in your case -
A division of sentiment in regard to Gov. some are for Oglesby, & some for [illegible] Jessee. I am glad to know that you will be ready to take the field - early. That is a good plan, take the first opportunity
of doing good, allways.
I may visit your city in the course of next week - & shall take great pleasure, in calling on personally-
I rec'd a letter from Henry on yesterday [illegible] [illegible] of Knoxville at Blains X Roads - in good health & spirits - he is very popular with the Regt & a fine officer, Col. Buckner, is by no means, liked - him & Henry get along pleasantly - Henry has head charge of the Regt for Weeks Buckner is at home.
When you see that I can serve you, please command my services.
I am With Respect
your friend
